“Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”
John 1:46 · ESVThe first skeptic in this story is not an enemy. He is a friend of a friend. Somebody runs up to Nathanael claiming they have found the one Moses wrote about, and Nathanael answers with a sneer about the guy's hometown.
Watch what does not happen next. Philip does not argue. He does not shame him for doubting, and he does not hand him a stack of proof. He says three words. Come and see.
That is still the invitation. Not agree first. Not clean yourself up first. Look first. Jesus never once ran from a real question, and the people who asked him the sharpest ones tended to get the longest answers. The ones he had trouble with were the people who had already decided and only wanted to win.
Your skepticism is not an obstacle here. Bring it with you.
