Open your Bible and read 1 Peter 3:13-17
“but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,”
1 Peter 3:15 · ESVYou do not need a seminary degree to tell somebody what happened to you. The blind man in John 9 got cornered by professionals and all he said was one thing I know, I was blind and now I see. That ended the argument.
Get your story down to three sentences. What life was like before. What happened when you met Jesus. What is different now. Sixty seconds, no church vocabulary they would not understand, no exaggerating to make it sound bigger. The truth is already enough.
People can argue with doctrine all day. They cannot argue with the change in you, because they are looking right at it.
Say it out loud a few times so it does not fall apart when your heart is pounding. Then be ready, because the moment usually shows up when you are not expecting it!
