Day 44 of 60 · The resurrection

If It Did Happen

Open your Bible and read 1 Corinthians 15:20-28

“But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”

1 Corinthians 15:20 · ESV

Now turn the coin over and give this side the same honest weight. If a man really walked out of a sealed tomb, then death is not the end of the story, which changes the shape of every year you have left. It means His claims about Himself were not delusion, so everything He said about the Father, about forgiveness, about you, has to be taken seriously. It means the blank check clears.

And it means He is not a historical figure to admire. He is alive, right now, and can be spoken to.

Firstfruits is a farming word. It is the first sheaf of a harvest, the sample that proves the rest is coming. The claim is not that Jesus escaped death as a one time exception. The claim is that He went first.

You do not have to decide today. Just do not treat this as a small claim. It is not.

Do this today

Spend two minutes in silence with one question: what would change tomorrow if this were true?

An honest thing to say to God

“God, if He is alive, then You can hear me right now. So I am talking to You instead of about You.”
