Open your Bible and read Hebrews 13:8-16
“Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.”
Hebrews 13:15 · ESVWorship is not the warm up act before the real thing. Worship IS the thing.
The verse calls praise a sacrifice, and that word is chosen on purpose. A sacrifice costs you something. Sometimes it costs you your mood. There will be mornings when you feel flat, or angry, or numb, and you lift your voice anyway because He is worthy whether or not your feelings caught up yet.
That is the fruit of your lips. It is what a priest carries into the room. Try this. Before you ask God for one single thing today, tell Him what you love about Him. His kindness. His patience with you. The blood He spilled to bring you home. Say it plainly, in your own words.
Something shifts in a person when they learn to give God the first thing instead of the leftovers.
Do this today
Play one worship song today and sing it to Him instead of just listening to it.
Say this out loud
“I bring God a sacrifice of praise today. He is worthy of my worship whether or not I feel like it.”
